General Description

After a entire reconstruction, the golden star hotel has now reopened its historical gate to a hotel of historical beauty right moments from prague castle in the center of the city . The first written notes of the hotel date back to 1372 when it was owned by the mayor of hradcany. During the next centuries the residence changed its owners abundant times. Among then we can find czech kings´servants, members of different religious orders and abundant fundamental prague burghers. In 1723-32, when owned by the official of czech royal chamber baltazar knapp, the residence saw a thorough and expensive reconstruction that put it in the today´s shape. The recently concluded recontruction preserved the original architectural elements and concluded them carefully with luxury facilities of ultramodern way of life. Just next to the elevator you can find a 270 year old staircase, you can see the original ornamental plastering of the ceiling, but also the maximum ultramodern bathroom. The period wooden furniture is in perfect accordance with the historical surroundings of the hotel, but at the same time it is treated with the latest wax technique, without ecologically detrimental varnish. As you would expect from such a historical building, all the guests rooms at the golden star hotel enjoy a mix of both ultramodern comfort and old world charm. The facrics and funiture all add to the character of the rooms with each one being a slightly different shape and size from the last.
